Ground Survival Tactics Instructor Recertification
The motor skills acquired in the Ground Survival Tactics arena are perishable and ever-changing. GST-Instructor recertification is an 8-hour course designed to update those skills for a “grounded” assault on the officer. Within this class the participant will be instructed and tested on all changes to the curriculum both for the basic academies and instructor courses in particular:
- The principles of Ground Survival Tactics
- Targeting principles
- Proper psychomotor skills involved in their employment
- How the various components of Level Two and Three Tactics are applied to these serious and potentially life threatening situations.
As with all recertification courses, the participant will be tested on:
- Both the cognitive and motor skills for the use of this level of force
- Proper means of instruction
- Testing and theoretical background to analyze other similar programs in order to develop agency specific programs.
To register for the course, contact your Training Manager to assign the training to you via our Learning Management System (LMS).
Upcoming classes are listed below. Registration does not guarantee acceptance into the class. Selections will be completed four weeks prior to the class; those accepted into the class will receive a notification at that time.
If classes are full, or not available, please complete the Course Interest Survey. This is not a waiting list, but instead helps us see if there is enough interest to create another class. If we schedule a session, we will contact everyone who has completed the survey and request that registration be completed.
