Crisis Intervention Team Training for 911

This course is hosted by the State 911 Coordination Office, Telecommunicator Training Program, Emergency Management Division.

The 8-hour Crisis Intervention Team Training for 911 is tailored to meet the unique needs of the 911 Public Safety Dispatcher. Participants will recognize the vital role of 911 within the crisis intervention team. They will review safety concerns and crisis indicators of different types of mental health illnesses to relay to emergency responders. They will identify effective de-escalation, crisis intervention and interview techniques to further assist individuals experiencing crisis. They will share resources for community mental health and crisis outreach. This training is available to all 911 Dispatchers (Telecommunicators) working in 911 or Public Safety Call Centers in Washington State.
