In this 3-hour virtual training led by the Washington Poison Center, we will equip police and correctional officers with in-depth knowledge and safety strategies related to the opioid crisis.
In this interactive training, participants will explore how opioids affect the body, recognize overdose symptoms, and learn when and how to administer naloxone.
The session covers the history and evolving trends of opioid use, including the rise of stimulant combinations, and emphasizes language and effective communication with the public for relationship building. Officers will also examine real-world overdose scenarios, learn how to assess for safe and effective intervention, and learn how to best utilize Washington Poison Center services.
This training prepares first responders to respond safely, confidently, and compassionately to opioid-related incidents in their communities and facilities.
