Entry Police Officer ($5,000 Hiring Bonus)

The incumbent of this position is responsible for general duty police work which includes the prevention, detection and investigation of crimes and for maintaining and enforcing law and order. The position is located in the Lynnwood Police Department and is under the direct supervision of the shift duty sergeant. Work is normally performed in an indoor and outdoor work environment, subject to seasonal heat and cold, temperature changes or extreme weather conditions, regular exposure to fumes, dust and odors, working evening and variable hours, shift work, emergency call-out, and driving a vehicle to conduct work. Exposure to possible fights and confrontations, contact with dissatisfied or abusive individuals, fumes from vehicle and equipment operation, explosives, and contact with blood and body fluids. Also requires operation of a vehicle, including during adverse weather conditions.
