Lateral Requirements Must be able to meet all Entry Level requirements listed above. Must meet required physical, psychological, and medical standards and the Department's physical agility test. Must have a minimum of twelve (12) months experience as a full-time commissioned officer in a civilian governmental jurisdiction with no break of service of more than twenty four (24) months at the time of application. Successful completion of Washington Criminal Justice Training Center Academy or Equivalency Test. Officers outside of Washington State must successfully complete Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission Equivalent Academy and Examination within one year of appointment. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent (GED). A two-year community college degree or vocational school training in police sciences, law enforcement, criminal justice administration, public administration, or a closely related field is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience that provide the incumbent with the necessary qualifications may be considered. Duties Include: Authority: Enforces all applicable laws and ordinances specified in the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribal Code. Analysis: Receives information from the Police Sergeant, Deputy Chief or Chief of Police, Fish and Game Officers, Police Officers, Informants, Community Members, Tribal Court Staff, and other agencies. Compensation

All inmates on suicide/homicide precautions will be cleared by the jail MHP. SCREENING NEW INDIVDUAL(S) IN CUSTODY: New inmates who are booked into the jail will be screened by the Mental Health Coordinator/Mental Health Professional using the Medical Receiving Screening Form. PROVIDE MENTAL HEALTH EVALUATION TO THOSE INDIVIDUAL(S) IN CUSTODY WHO ARE SCREENED FOR MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES: The Mental Health Coordinator will evaluate the mentally ill individual(s) in custody. IDENTIFY CURRENT/POTENTIAL PSYCHIATRIC MEDICATION USE: The MHC will identify psychiatric medication needs and write a written report that will be given to the medical department provider. The MHC will assist the classification department as necessary with appropriate housing of the mentally ill inmate. The MHC will coordinate with the court/transport team as necessary. ESTABLISH COMMUNICATION AND FACILITATE OUTSIDE SUPPORT SERVICES: Appropriate community social service providers will be contacted to potentially provide services during and after incarceration.
