The Port Gamble S’Klallam Public Safety Department is comprised of Police and Natural Resources Enforcement (NRE) to prevent & reduce crime; protect the health, safety, & welfare of the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe’s people and property; and to enforce treaty rights regulations to help sustain natural resources. The Chief of Police is responsible for leading the Agency in a healthy work culture and ensuring nobility and credibility of the Profession. The Chief develops strategic plans while directing and administering the law enforcement function for the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe.

Federal Wildlife Officer

The US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) Division of Refuge Law Enforcement is seeking applicants for 20 Federal Wildlife Officer (FWO) positions across the US. The positions are being filled at the GL/GS 5/7/9/11 grades. Once fully commissioned, the FWO will also be entitled to locality pay, Administratively Uncontrollable Overtime (which adds a minimum of 10% to the employees pay), as well as additional premium pays (overtime, Sunday premium, night differential, etc.) FWOs serve as the USFWS law enforcement presence on National Wildlife Refuges and other Service properties.

This position plans, directs and manages all police functions and personnel. Annual Salary Range is $105,000 - $120,000 DOQ. Signing Bonus of up to $15,000. Four Years of experience may be substituted for the education requirement.

Looking for one person for the Chief of Police position, and also a second officer. The community historically has had 1 Officer supported by Reserve and Idaho County Sheriff. The City is currently attempting to fund 2 full time positions.
