Next Level Leadership

This Track III course takes things to the “next level.” Students will deepen their understanding of today’s profession & its challenges, the value of quality organizational leadership, effective communication, and leading police cultures, all while improving professional & personal relationships. Information and skills developed in this course will help the student understand the next level of leadership responsibilities within the supervisory, middle-management, command staff, & executive ranks. That said, officers, deputies, corporals, FTO’s, and detectives have benefitted greatly from the greater understanding of our profession garnered in this course. Students will gain a strong understanding of concepts and skills to successfully manage personalities that exist in organizations, develop  work teams, and lead organizational culture while understanding the history and roles of the community and government.  Topics will include challenges of police reform, public perception, recruitment, retention, budgets, culture challenges, government relationships, supervisory & command level communication, building organizational trust, and the value of emotional and social intelligence.
